The replacement is from Cuisinart, so the blender is as good as new now. - It took quite a while to arrive, though.

This part with gasket replases the "MAIN PART" of the blender. It does not come apart for repair. The gear is designed to grind down to protect the motor so be careful to keep an eye on it when using for chopping etc. It's pricier than Oster's counterpart so you will want to take good care of it while blending or you will be paying the price of a new blender after replacing this only 3X!
